We made $5,000 toward animal rescue in our
Half went to STARS and half went to the Augusta Humane Society. We had a great day, terrific weather, and an excellent turnout!
A huge thanks to our volunteers for giving their time, our contributors who donated items to sell, and of course the buyers who took it all off our hands. Thank you all for helping to make this is sale a great success. We'd especially like to thanks Cudos Flowers and Gifts for donating some fantastic items. |
This is a ‘Thank You’ to all of the people that donated their time, love and money to the Village Deli’s annual charity golf tournament, held on May 31, 2009. The overwhelming support for our fundraiser was very heart warming, especially in light of the current economic climate. We had a terrific time, beautiful weather and much generosity. The numbers are not all in yet, but we have definitely exceeded last years’ totals. The beneficiaries of the proceeds are several different local animal rescues to help with the costs of spay & neuter, foster care and adoption, medical interventions, training of service dogs, transporting animals to other locations for adoption and educating people on humane pet care. The most important message we want to get out, is the importance of spaying and neutering pets so that we can decrease and ultimately eliminate euthanizing animals at all. The non-profit charity we created, That’s What Friends Are For, Inc., accepts tax-exempt donations year round for this purpose. Should anyone wish to make contributions, you can contact us at
